Mr. Tan Teck Hock, Principal of Singapore Sports School and Dr. Chan Wai Lin, Deputy Director of Sports of Singapore Sports School, visited our school on 17th February, 2016.
In the sharing session, the management of Singapore Sports School had an in-depth exchange of thoughts and information regarding sports development in their school and our school. At the beginning, our Principal, Mr. Raymond Wong, welcomed the honoured guests. Then, Ms. Chan Wing Yin Celest, our Public Relations Officer, introduced our school and our unique features to them. After that, two of our PE teachers, Mr. Man Kin Ping and Ms. Ho Yu Chai, shared their observations during their stay in the Singapore Sports School last summer. Before the session ended, two representatives of the elite athletes who are currently studying under the Partnership Programme of Lam Tai Fai College and Hong Kong Sports Institute shared the feelings and benefits of training full-time whilst studying part-time at LTFC.
During their visit, Mr. Tan and Dr. Chan were taken on a guided campus tour and introduced to the first-class school facilities, including the indoor heated swimming pool, fitness centre, multi-purpose stadium and fashion centers at our College.
It was a valuable opportunity for our management and teachers to exchange ideas with the leaders in the Singapore education sector. This meeting provided our teachers with an invaluable opportunity to learn more about sports development in both Singapore and Hong Kong, and how Hong Kong youth can capitalize on the opportunities associated with it. In the future, our school will continue to seek to create connections with overseas institutions and provide opportunities for our students and teachers to learn more from our counterparts from different cultures.
