Our warmest congratulations to our Visual Art graduate Kelly Lau Tsz Ching. She won the Excellence Design NexGen Award in the 40th anniversary of Global Design Awards 2016 organized by the Hong Kong Design Association, one of the most established multi-disciplinary design competitions in the Asia-Pacific region since 1975. It aims to energize a series of events as a yearlong campaign that aims to promote Hong Kong designs internationally and to enhance Hong Kong as one of the major creative hubs in Asia-Pacific. Kelly Lau’s design and efforts in fashion design have received high acclaim and were very much appreciated by the Professional International judging Team, raking the top 7 students with the highest average scores out of 10 entrants.
Kelly Lau is enthusiastic about fashion Design. Her talent in fashion design was discovered and then blossomed during her studies at Lam Tai Fai College. She participated in our school’s annual fashion show every year from Secondary 4 to 6 and she won the Overall Champion in our 10th Anniversary Fashion show. She has always been recognized as one of our best Art students at LTFC.
Our Art department has excelled in providing our students with the best guidance and support to demonstrate their creativity and artistic abilities. To culminate that, Ms Alma Kwan Hiu Tung, our experienced Art teacher has received the award for the Best Educator 2016 at the 40th anniversary of Global Design Awards 2016 organized by the Hong Kong Design Association. She was the only recipient who is not teaching in tertiary education or at professional art education institutions.
This year is the 40th anniversary of the Global Design Awards, the HKDA debuted the Best Education Awards to acknowledge the influential design teaching professions, in order to raise public awareness as to the importance of design in education. Under Ms Kwan’s guidance at LTFC, her students have achieved the Gold Prize at the Exhibition of Secondary School Students’ Creative Visual Arts Work for 4 years. We are so glad that Ms Kwan’s hard work and dedication has been recognized by this outstanding award.
LTFC is greatly honored to have such prestigious members in our Art Department and LTFC will continue to thrive for excellence in nurturing the different talents our students have.
