Cross-cultural Training Programme at the Singapore Sports School 2016 &
Signing of MOU with Singapore Sports School
This is the second year for our College to send our student athletes to the Singapore Sports School to widen their perspectives and deepen their understanding of the training life of their Singaporean counterparts. On 21 August 2016, our teachers, Mr. Luk Chi Shing and Ms. Heung Hau Ling, led 4 badminton players and 13 fencers to spend a week training with students at the Singapore Sports School. Through this Programme, our students also learnt more about local culture and differing customs.
The modern accommodations and facilities provided our students with a splendid learning environment. Both HK and Singaporean student athletes were guided by professional coaches in their everyday training and had the opportunities to put the first-class equipment to test. The valuable experience received through different visits and learning activities in Singapore enabled our student athletes to expand their social circles, raise their cultural awareness and develop better self-management skills and self-discipline.
On 24 August 2016, our Principal, Mr. Wong Kwong Wai, Raymond, accompanied by the School Public Relations Officer, Ms Chan Wing Yin, Celest, visited the Singapore Sports School to sign a Memorandum of Understanding between the two schools. The two schools agree to offer exchange programmes for fencers of the two places. This in-depth collaboration aims to provide student athletes of the two schools an additional platform and opportunity for training and friendly competitions. Our school believes that this cooperation will add competitive exposure to our young athletes who are waiting to make their mark at the national level.
