Congratulations to Dr. Lam Tai Fai for having an Honorary Fellowship conferred on him by The Education University of Hong Kong
We would like to express our congratulations to our Supervisor, Dr. Lam Tai Fai, who was recently awarded an Honorary Fellowship from The Education University of Hong Kong. Some of our teachers and students attended the Honorary Fellowship Presentation Ceremony at The Education University of Hong Kong on the 31st of March to share in his happiness, and visit the various educational facilities at the University.
The Honorary Fellowship was presented to Dr. Lam by the University President, Professor Stephen Y. L. Cheung. The Citation of the University commended Dr. Lam on his contributions to the field of education. As a leader in the textiles and fashion industry, Dr. Lam has acknowledged the importance of cultivating talents and optimizing the use of resources and founded Lam Tai Fai College in 2004. Our school was the first in Hong Kong to weave fashion design, sports development, innovative technology and health education into the conventional curriculum.
In addition to his contributions to secondary education, Dr. Lam also attached great importance to the development of local higher education. He made a donation to establish the Polytechnic University of Hong Kong’s first full-time Master’s degree programme in Fashion and Textile Design in 2000. Dr. Lam has served a number of capacities in various universities, including Member of the Court and Deputy Chairman of Polytechnic University‘s Council, Honorary Member of the Court of Hong Kong Baptist University, and Member of EdUHK’s Presidential Advisory Group.
Moreover, Dr. Lam began the large-scale project of building primary schools on Mainland China in 2006. Thanks to his financial support and dedication, more than 30 primary schools have been built in Henan, Qinghai, Yunnan and Hubei provinces. Dr. Lam’s devoted and dedicated efforts towards Hong Kong and Mainland education shows that he is truly deserving of the Honorary Fellowship which was awarded based on his magnificent achievements.
Congratulations again to Dr. Lam on receiving this honor. We hope that our students will see Dr. Lam as role model and fully develop their potentials and contribute their talents to the advancement of society.
本校校監林大輝博士獲頒香港教育大學榮譽院士銜
恭賀校監林大輝博士獲頒香港教育大學榮譽院士銜，本校部份師生於2017年3月31日前往香港教育大學參加榮譽院士頒授典禮，並參觀香港教育大學的各項教學設施，共同分享林校監的喜悅。
本年度榮譽院士銜由香港教育大學校長張仁良教授親自頒發，教育大學讚辭高度表揚林校監對教育界的貢獻：作為本地紡織及時裝界領頭人物，林校監深明培養人才及善用資源的重要性，遂於2004年成立林大輝中學，舉辦四大特色課程，致力培育對體育、時裝設計、創意科技及健康教育四大範疇有突出表現的學生，開創了傳統中學課程的先河。除了中學教育，林校監亦十分關注高等教育的發展，曾於2000年捐助母校香港理工大學設立首個全日制服裝及紡織品設計碩士課程，現出任多所大學公職，包括香港理工大學校董會副主席及顧問委員會成員、香港浸會大學諮詢會榮譽成員、香港教育大學校長諮詢小組成員。此外，林校監在中國內地展開大規模的小學建設計劃，在他的熱心資助及推動下，河南、青海、雲南及湖北省內共建成逾三十所小學。由此可見，林校監對兩地教育多年來出心出力，成績有目共睹，榮譽院士銜可謂實至名歸。
