Celebrating Chinese Heritage by Fusing Innovation, Technology, and Art & Design
Our school recently held an enriching cross-curricular activity in collaboration with I&T and Art and Design KLAs, focusing on the traditional architecture of Chinese culture. The workshop, titled "Four Ancient Bridges of China," provided students with a unique opportunity to explore the history, features, and architectural principles behind these iconic structures.
Highlighting the significance of the ancient bridges, the workshop included a hands-on activity in which students worked in teams to design and build their own bridge models. This event culminated in a friendly competition that revealed the best work among students. After the building session, students shared their experiences and insights, fostering peer learning and reflection. The event concluded with a brief summary, reinforcing the key takeaway points.
This activity successfully stimulated students' interests in Innovation and Technology as well as design & problem-solving skills, broadening their understanding of how technology can be applied in traditional Chinese contexts. We are proud to promote collaboration between technology and art, which was repeatedly proven fruitful in enhancing our students' learning experience and their appreciation towards our nation’s cultural heritage.
