2026 Guangzhou-Hong Kong Secondary School Students Science and Technology Innovation Workshop

Our students took part in a full day of immersive technology and cultural learning in the 2026 Guangzhou-Hong Kong Secondary School Students Science and Technology Innovation Workshop (2026穗港中學生科技創新工作坊) at Guangdong University of Technology (GDUT). The opening ceremony was attended by several distinguished guests, including Mr. Chen Yingzhao, Director of the Research Office in the Guangzhou Municipal Education Bureau, Mr. Ou Weiguo, Party Secretary of High School Affiliated to Guangzhou University, and Prof. Xie Guangqiang, Executive Dean of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Institute at GDUT.

During the trip, our students immersed in the Lingnan traditional culture experience, including workshops on shadow puppet and traditional Chinese instrument, Guqin. These experience sessions not only strengthened students' understanding of cultural values and cultural heritage, but also deepened students' friendship and inspired students to reflect on how culture and technology can both shape identity and broaden future perspectives.

In the final sharing session, students' reflections were deep, sincere, and meaningful. They expressed how the programme helped them connect with different peers, appreciate traditional culture with a new understanding, and grow in confidence, patience, and teamwork. Their thoughtful comments also served as a solid wrap-up to the tour, showing that the experience would continue to support their personal growth after this learning experience.
