The Inauguration Ceremony of 10th Anniversary Celebration of Lam Tai Fai College

The Inauguration Ceremony of LTFC’s 10th Anniversary Celebration cum Time Capsule Laying Ceremony was organized on February 28th at our school campus. Mr. Leung Chun-Ying, the Chief Executive of Hong Kong SAR, was invited to be the Officiating Guest for the Ceremony, which will be followed by a series of events to celebrate the school’s 10th Anniversary.
First and foremost, the Masters of Ceremony, two senior form students, invited Chief Executive, Mr. Leung, LTFC School Supervisor and Legislative Councillor Dr. Lam Tai-Fai, and all members of the School's Incorporated Management Committee to unveil a plaque to mark the 10th Anniversary. This plaque symbolizes the efforts and contributions which the school has made in the past decade and urges every member of the school to continue to uphold the value of our school motto "多元啟智 堅毅樂群" so that we can build a brighter future together.
This was followed by Dr. Lam’s speech, in which he shared with us how LTFC was first conceived. This originated from his understanding of the student athletes’ difficulties in striking a balance between study and completion. They are in dire need of the recognition and support of the Government, the community, the school and also their parents. He therefore set about creating an academic institution with an innovative mindset and mode of operation.
Dr. Lam admitted that the school experienced various challenges and hurdles in the founding process. These included the instability of the teaching team, the problem of over-budgeting in the construction of the New Annex…etc. It was an encouragement that the parents and the general public recognized and supported the school mission and thus proved that LTFC was going in the right direction from the very beginning. He pledges that, from this day, the school would continue to instill the school’s mission of providing all-round education and upholding the values of our school motto “Inspired by Multiple Intelligences, with Perseverance and Social Skills” (多元啟智 堅毅樂群). With the support of the important people of Hong Kong in various sectors, LTFC aims to continue to make contributions to the education system in Hong Kong by unleashing young people’s potentials and nurturing talents in various fields.
Four representatives of LTFC student body presented an original artwork to our officiating guest Mr. Leung to express our gratitude for his presence at the Inauguration Ceremony. The whole piece, from the frame to the sketch, was designed and produced by LTFC students.
In the past decade, LTFC has been nurturing talents of various fields, including the current world champion in cycling, Kwok Ho-Ting Marco, the silver medalist of fencing in the Asian Games, Au Sin-Ying, the bronze medalist of fencing in National Games ,and the founder of a fashion brand “kenaxleung”, Leung Ka-Kin, Kenax, etc. LTFC will continue to inspire the minds of the younger generation in their future aspirations now and well into the future.
