Green Monday at LTFC - Kick-off Ceremony cum Sharing Session
To encourage our students to adopt a healthy dieting habit, our School has co-operated with Green Monday, a social enterprise group, to promote green, healthy and sustainable living.
The Kick-off Ceremony of ‘Green Monday at LTFC’ was conducted during the S1 Life-wide Learning Session on 21st November 2014. Our Principal, Deputy Principals, all S1 students, representatives of parents, teacher representatives and representatives from the Chartwells Catering Company were invited to participate in this meaningful event.
We were delighted to have Ms. Janis Chan (陳貝兒), a famous local hostess and Executive Director of Green Monday, to share with the participants about her participation in the North Pole Marathon 2013 and the importance of protecting our planet from climate changes. After this, a drama was performed and an inter-class competition about the impact of vegetarianism on health and environment was hosted by the Hong Kong Baptist University Green Monday ambassadors.
After the Ceremony, our School will launch the Vegetarian Lunch Reward Scheme for S1-2 students starting from 24th November 2014 and vegetarian menus will be provided by Chartwells on every subsequent Monday. Exhibition boards will also be displayed at the Tuck Shop until 8th December 2014 to let students know more about the importance of leading a green lifestyle.
