Congratulations to our students for their participation in
Cyberport Youth Coding Jam 1000 to set a new World Record
On 9th April 2015, 1,000 participants met at the Cyberport Youth Coding Jam 1000 for the IT Fest Opening Ceremony at Central Harbourfront to finish their last bit of coding. They then aggregated all completed parts into a giant digital Smart City for the public and set a new World Record!
The event was held by Cyberport, The Office of the Government Chief Information Officer (OGCIO) and Hong Kong Software Industry Association (HKSiA). Each registered participant was given a 100x100 plot with pre-assigned building tasks. Participants were required to do their part of map building between January and March via Minecraft coding platform.
28 of our students participated in this event and we are glad to announce that all of them made their contribution in this World-record setting event! Each of them received a Medal Award for their participation.
The process of coding can help students develop their problem-solving skills as well as self-confidence. Also, they were given the opportunity to experience the joy of coding and teamwork through demonstrating their best coding skills and exchanging ideas with their peers.
