Congratulations to our students for their achievements in the project “sPADAP – Smart Parents Against Drug Abuse Platform”

organized by the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Department of Computing

We would like to express our congratulations to Leung Ho Hei (S2A), Pang Tsz Fung (S2C) and Chan Cheuk Hin (S4D) who received several prizes including the Best Artistic Award, Best Partnership Award and the Gold Award in both the Junior and Senior Section in“sPADAP – Smart Parents Against Drug Abuse Platform” organized by the Department of Computing, Hong Kong Polytechnic University.

The sPADAP project has come to its second year. This project  was organized by the Department of Computing, Hong Kong Polytechnic University, which aimed to help parents and their children to be aware of potential drug abusers in their families and youths to learn about the consequences of drug abuse. Three students of Lam Tai Fai College were invited to take part in this project.

Teams of students nominated from participating schools were guided to design and develop mobile applications or games which contained anti-drug or health-related information. Basic skills and knowledge of designing and developing mobile apps and games were introduced in the workshop. Participating students were required to design apps to enter a competition in last two days of the Camp. Awards and certificates were presented to our students in recognition of their effort and achievements.

During the 2 camps held in August 2015, participating students attended a series of programming lessons, learned how to lead a healthy lifestyle and learnt about anti-drug messages. Our students were recognized in the Prize-Presentation Ceremony for their self-developed mobile applications to promote anti-drug messages.
